Dr. Thomas Roehr has been the director of the Animal Care Center since 1995 and its primary veterinarian since 2001. After earning an undergraduate degree in biology from Virginia Tech, Dr. Roehr went on to graduate from the University of Georgia College
of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. Although the curriculum at Georgia covered most domestic animals, Dr. Roehr has chosen to limit his practice to dogs, cats, and a few other pet species. Over fifty hours of continuing education seminars are attended each year including the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine where he served as President from 1993-1994. Dr. Roehr was a founding member of the Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Virginia (formerly the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Northern Virginia) and has spent over fifteen years on their board of directors. Dr. Roehr and his wife Polly, a first grade teacher at Highland School have raised a son and daughter in Fauquier County who have since graduated from Virginia Tech and UVA respectively.
Our reception staff and veterinary assistants are chosen for their desire to help clients and their pets in addition to keeping the clinic running smoothly. From time to time one of your favorite ladies may be away to learn about new products or further training so that we may better serve you.
